Trois Rivières
X.O

Home angle_right News & Events angle_right X.O

A POWERFULLY SUAVE EXPRESSION

Trois Rivières X.O combines smoothness and power, embodying the essence of its unique terroir along with unmatched savoir-faire. This perfect union gives rise to one of Trois Rivières’ finest expressions, an Extra Old Pure Cane rhum of memorable complexity.

AGED EXCLUSIVELY IN FRENCH OAK BARRELS

To craft Trois Rivières X.O, Cellar Master Daniel Baudin meticulously selected six batches of Pure Cane rhum from similar vintages, each revealing unique sensorial qualities. Aged exclusively in 400-liter French oak barrels, this maturation ensures a perfect balance between character and refinement. The carefully chosen new barrels and ex-cognac barrels contribute to imparting exquisite harmony to the rhum. This method of aging in 100% French barrels – a first for Trois Rivières – gives the rhum an organoleptic profile of remarkable elegance, particularly appreciated for an X.O.

A master distiller extracts rum from a wooden barrel using a glass pipette, carefully pouring it into a Trois Rivières tasting glass.

“The definition of an X.O rhum – with a minimum age of 6 years – lies above all in defining a style. A successful X.O is a model of  balance, with an assertive aromatic character revealed with moderation and restraint.”

COMPLEX AND WELL-BALANCED, WITH SINGULAR AROMAS

Trois Rivières X.O is distinguished by its complexity and balance, promising a unique sensory experience. Its golden color is illuminated by light copper hues. Its dense and deep nose reveals a subtle blend of macerated fruit, licorice and spices, with notes of quince paste, curry. On the palate, this alliance of power and spicy richness extends into a long finish, marked by notes of licorice and enhanced by mineral accents.

Best enjoyed neat, Trois Rivières X.O can also be paired with exceptional dark chocolate or an elaborate pastry with tropical notes. For adventurous connoisseurs, this high-quality Pure Cane rhum can also complement savory dishes such as delicate fish tartars or scallops, thanks to its subtle saline notes, reflecting the Trois Rivières terroir.
